Using the Data Projector Trolley

 

        Procedure for using the Multimedia Trolley:

  • The trolley has a data projector, external DVD player, speakers and laptop computer
  • Book Trolley by phone/email/visit
  • Collect Trolley from library
  • Setup Trolley in class room (Connect power)
  • Turn on data projector with remote control or button
  • Turn Computer on
  • Wait for computer to logon automatically to media1 account
  • Should now be able to access Internet, Clickview, the Learning Federation, and DVD drive (Providing that you are near a wireless access point)
  • Make sure speakers are on
  • If you want to access your own files it would be best to have these on a data stick and not try to use your personal logon.
  • You may be able to logon personally if there is sufficient wireless coverage which is indicated by the green bars on the bottom right hand corner of the screen

When finished:

  • Shut down Computer
  • Press power button on data projector remote twice, the light on top will turn to orange from green but the fan will keep running for a while until it’s cool
  • Pack up and return Trolley to library office

If the Logon becomes locked:

Use this logon:

Username: media1

Password: m3dia08 (as in zero 8)

OR: hold down the power button for 10seconds.

Controls on the data projector:

The rotating dial on the top of the machine increases or decreases the size of the screen. The rim around the actual lens will focus it.
