The Le@rning Federation digital content DVD
Over 2000 learning objects and 3500 digital resources are now available to encourage student learning and support teachers in Australian and New Zealand schools. This DVD, Digital Curriculum Content July 2007, contains the full suite of TLF content currently available. TLF publishes new content each quarter. Detailed information can be found in About content.
New! This DVD contains the first release of clips from Australian Screen online which have teacher notes provided by TLF. For more information see What's new.
Technical note - new file structure
The file structure for the DVD has changed. Digital resources are now contained in a separate folder named 'drs'. This is only of importance if you have already set up links to access digital resources or if you have an existing file structure on your server that you copy the DVD to. This does not affect the features of the DVD.
Search TLF content
Both learning objects and digital resources can be searched by keywords by using the search tool. In addition, learning objects can be searched by year level and curriculum area while digital resources can be searched by file type, for example, video, audio or picture.
When the results from your search are returned:
- select the title to directly launch the learning object or the digital resource
- select 'More ...' for further description. The learning object or digital resource can be launched from the description page.
Note: This Search tool requires Adobe Flash Player.
Some of the early learning objects do not display in Firefox browsers.
Browse catalogues
You can browse descriptions of the learning objects using the Catalogues. You can also view and use the learning objects directly from the catalogues by clicking on the links.
Note: If you are copying the contents of the DVD to your network server, please copy the entire contents, as is, in order to preserve the browse and search functions. Do not change the file structure.
Required software
You can check that you have the appropriate software installed on your computer to view the learning objects by using the TLF analyser tool. Please note you need to be connected to the Internet for the analyser to work.
All recently published learning objects work in Firefox browsers, however some earlier learning objects are not yet compatible. In addition, links in the catalogues do not work in some versions of Firefox browsers. The full functionality of the catalogues is available using Internet Explorer.
