Junior School

FOUNDATION TO YEAR 4

Developing Strong Foundations

"We seek to create an environment that is conducive to effective and enjoyable learning"

In Junior School we aim to develop strong foundations in:

FAITH – Knowing and responding to the reality of God.
LEARNING – Fostering the excitement of learning and providing the keys to learning.
RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOUR – Exploring relationships and nurturing independence.

We seek to create an environment that is conducive to effective and enjoyable learning. This is characterised by safe, respectful and harmonious relationships where children are praised and encouraged to participate. Our curriculum is detailed and includes specialist classes that enhance our strong teaching of Literacy and Numeracy.

Our students are valued, loved and cared for as God’s image bearers and are encouraged and disciplined with love and justice. We believe that all students can achieve high standards when given sufficient time and support in a learning environment which is flexible, happy and positive and one which supports them as individual learners in ways that enable them to reach their full potential.

Our staff members strive to cater for the individual needs of each child. As such, regular assessment and evaluation allow staff to monitor children’s progress and appropriately adjust their teaching. We are committed to our own ongoing Professional Development and seek to ‘up-skill’ our staff according to current educational initiatives. Recognition of students and staff giftedness means that all are encouraged to develop and use their gifts for the benefit of the Junior School community.
