Child Safety

about us

The Covenant College Child Safe Program strives to be anchored in the Reformational and Evangelical understanding of Scripture, which honours the Bible as the fully reliable Word of truth as outlined in the College’s Biblical Basis Statement. Students are valued as God’s image bearers. They are loved and accepted regardless of their beliefs, culture, race, abilities, or disabilities.

We believe that all children have the right to physical and emotional safety in all College and Kinder environments, both physical and online, and can actively participate in decisions that affect their lives. The College regards its child protection responsibilities with the utmost importance. We are committed to providing the necessary resources to ensure compliance that seeks to uphold both Scriptural precepts and the laws of Australia regarding child safety and protection.

As part of our Child Safety program, Covenant College has appointed Child Protection Officers. They are your first port of call for most situations involving child safety incidents or concerns. They can assist in clarifying your reporting obligations and managing the next steps. They can also answer any questions that you may have with respect to our Child Safety policy, and the Child Protection Program more generally.

We are committed to promoting and protecting the interests and safety of children. We have zero tolerance for child abuse. All College and Kinder staff at Covenant College are responsible for the care and protection of children and reporting information about child abuse.

If you have a belief or suspicion that a child is being, or has been, subjected to any form of abuse you may contact the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (Child Protection).

Where you need guidance on making a report or have questions regarding child safety and wellbeing, contact a Covenant College Child Protection Officer.

Whenever there are concerns that a child is in immediate danger, call the Police on 000.
